Antique Hands

This is a video directed by Michael Murray, my fellow blog mate at The Calcutta Blog, and it was shot by his friend, AJ Chavar. The video is of a fashion shoot Michael did in Syracuse, NY, for a school project he had. I see a lot of aspiring fashion photographers but I really dig Michael's style. He really does produce some great shots. The quality of the footage is amazing, it was shot on a Nikon D90(The camera I use as well). The music is Sigur Ros' "Hoppipolla" which only adds to the feel of the film. Enjoy!

Macey

I took these photos about two weeks ago of my friend, Macey. Her style reminds me of a Californian girl who spends her days on the beach. The sun in her hair is what caught my eye and inspired me to shoot these photos.

Feedback is welcomed...

Of Montreal at the Trocadero

Two nights ago I shot photos of Of Montreal at the Trocadero. The show was sooooo good. They put on a great show. You need to see them live at least once before you die.

Margot & the Nuclear So and So's

Margot & the Nuclear So and So's performed a song specifically for The Calcutta last night. It was breathtaking. I couldn't believe it was happening. I'm really excited about where the The Calcutta is going. The video below is the very end of the performance, I'll post here when the video is up on The Calcutta.

Death Cab For Cutie, Cold War Kids, and Ra Ra Riot 04/07/2009

On Tuesday, I shot Death Cab For Cutie, Cold War Kids and Ra Ra Riot at the Tower Theatre in Upper Darby, PA. It's was like a dream come true. Those three bands on the same bill. Often times when I go to a show, the openers are horrible or mediocre. That was not the case with this show.

Dan Deacon Photos

The other night, I had the opportunity to cover the Dan Deacon show at the First Unitarian Church in Philadelphia for The Calcutta. I shot photos for a review of the show as well as for an interview we have with him. The show was really intense but overall it was really fun. I would recommend going to see him live if you ever have the chance.

Wale Photos for The Calcutta

Michael had the opportunity to interview Wale, a hip-hop artist from Washington DC, last night for The Calcutta. The interview will be up soon but for now we have the photos he took of the performance. Check them out.

Wale is the first hip-hop artist to be featured on The Calcutta and he will not be the last.

Wow...

A friend of mine showed this to me after I mentioned that I want to do something similar for The Calcutta except with bands.

Notte Sento (English subtitles) from napdan on Vimeo.

“A girl misses her train to Milan and is set to wait overnight in Rome until dawn. However, a chance encounter with a guy changes her plans and the night lights of the capital turn into the background to a tender love story. An extraordinary chemistry made of knowing glances and small gestures fills the few instants that separate them both from the sunrise. Short film made with 4500+ still photographs.”
